Special: Computer museum
And already for the fourth time we from IT Recycling were at the Infosecurity fair. This time we went big with two stands and a large sales team. Everyone from IT Recycling was instantly recognizable in the bright blue suits.
We were at a booth advertising our FREE computer waste collection service.
For this purpose we had brought a huge pile of old and depreciated computers.
But what was especially popular with visitors was our computer museum.
We displayed computers from the early days of automation.
And there were some really super antique ones on display working!
For example, an IBM XT 8086 from 1983 – working with even Wordperfect on it!
And how about a 1977 MAI with CPM control and no hard drive?
A Compaq luggage computers and many more very old digital gems.
We met with lots of people and asked how they clean up their computer waste.
Mobile hard disk shredder
On the other side we were standing with our mobile hard disk shredder.
So that’s a large truck containing two shredders that we use to destroy hard disks on location.
The customer can then watch and see with his own eyes the hard disk and other data carriers being destroyed.
And we really wanted to show that to as many people as possible!
So our sales team really talked to everyone who walked by and asked if they didn’t want to destroy a hard drive with us.
Then the guests of the Infosecurity fair could throw a hard disk into the shredder truck themselves and see how it works.
So for this we brought hard disks, because you can’t expect people to have a hard disk in the bag themselves.
About 3000 visitors went into our shredding truck and shredded a hard drive.
And that’s quite a number out of a total visitor count of 8500.
This was IT Recycling at the Infosecurity trade show 2019
The reactions of the visitors were really great we have had very nice conversations and many visitors have taken pictures.
For example, someone from the company Arrix shot a movie with his phone and put it on the Internet and it is a very nice video look for yourself: FILM OF ARRIX
