What makes CPU recycling so complex?
A CPU seems small, but it is technically one of the most advanced electronic components.
Each chip consists of:
- Semiconductors (such as silicon),
- Metal layers (including gold and silver),
- Plastic or ceramic housing,
- And sometimes cooling pastes or solder residue with heavy metals.
That makes CPU recycling more than simple metal recovery. It requires specialized knowledge to determine what is still usable and what should be processed responsibly.
