Toner recycling should really be done responsibly because toner is extremely environmentally unfriendly. Do you have old toners and/or other computer waste that needs to go away? If the total quantity is more than 200kg we will pick it up absolutely FREE.

IT Recycling - How does it work?

You can therefore return your empty toners to IT Recycling. Want more information about returning empty cartridges and toners? Read on quickly.

Step 1: Make an appointment

Click “Make an appointment” and choose “Other.”

Step 2: Number of kilograms

Indicate whether it is more or less than 200 kg.
How much is 200Kg?

Step 3: Schedule date

Make an appointment and you will receive a confirmation email with a pick-up date.

Step 4: Transportation

On the appointed day, our drivers will pick everything up.

Step 5: Certificate

Within 5 working days you will receive an environmental certificate, transport document and the invoice. Costs are 2,50€ per kilo plus €100,00 start-up costs.

Return empty cartridges

At IT Recycling, you can easily turn in your empty toner cartridges for responsible recycling. Do you have a single empty cartridge or just a large quantity? We make sure that your cartridges are processed in the right way. By returning your cartridges to us, you contribute to reducing waste and saving valuable resources. Toners are very harmful to the environment. We accept cartridges of all brands and types of printers. If you are unsure if your cartridges are suitable for recycling, please contact us.

Recycle or reuse again?

Every laser printer has at least one toner cartridge and a color printer has as many as four. At IT Recycling, we remove the toner from each laser printer for recycling immediately upon arrival. The toner is then kept separate from the rest of the printer and then goes to specialized toner recycling. Toner cartridges are in fact perfectly recyclable. Toners of still current types are refurbished and refilled and then sold as “compatible toner”; a cheap alternative to branded toners.

From toners that are no longer recyclable, the powder (the actual toner) is removed. This powder ends up back in other toner cartridges. The rest, i.e. the plastic shell, is poorly recyclable and therefore unfortunately goes to the incinerator.

Do you have a substantial amount?

We also take loose toners for recycling in our computer waste collection. However, do you have a substantial quantity? Then we recommend having them collected by a specialized toner recycling company such as Parc Ink, www.legecartridge.nl or marcscartridgecompany.co.uk. This is free anyway and often you get money for it.

How do you handle toners?

We have some tips for you on how to deal with old laser printers and the toners they contain:

When moving old laser printers, don’t put them on their side. Toner can then leak out with dire consequences;
When working with toners, wear gloves and goggles. The black substance – the actual toner – is very harmful to your health. It’s also best not to smoke or drink coffee when working with toners;

Still made a mess with a toner? Grab the vacuum cleaner right away. That really works best.

Free pickup over 200 kg

Do you have more than 200 kg of toners, cartridges or other electronic waste? Then we will come and collect it from you completely free of charge!

This is not only convenient for you, but also a sustainable choice. All you have to do is estimate your waste and make an appointment with us. We will make sure everything is picked up on the agreed date and brought to our warehouse. This saves you the trouble of hauling away and you contribute to a cleaner planet by choosing responsible waste disposal. Win-win we call it.

Also have your printer picked up?

In addition to empty toners and cartridges, you can also have us pick up your old printers. Many companies are unaware that old printers often still contain harmful substances that need to be disposed of safely. By having your printer(s) collected along with your toners, you ensure that everything is handled in an environmentally friendly way. Plus, you save space and prevent old devices from getting in the way. We do not perform this service for individuals.
