CPU Recycling for businesses

For responsible CPU recycling, you’ve come to the right place at IT Recycling. The central processor (CPU) is the heart of every computer, server or laptop. When a device reaches the end of its useful life, the CPU still contains valuable materials such as gold, silver, copper and palladium. In addition, some processors are still technically perfectly serviceable.

CPU Recycling - The Process

Does your organization have CPUs that need to be recycled? Then follow the roadmap to the right. We will take the entire process off your hands. Do you have questions beforehand or are you confused about something? Feel free to contact us. Our team is ready to support you.

Step 1: Make an appointment

Click “Make an appointment” and choose your item.

Step 2: Number of kilograms

Indicate whether it is more or less than 200 kg. How much is 200Kg?

Step 3: Schedule date

Make an appointment and you will receive a confirmation email with a pick-up date.

Step 4: Transportation

On the appointed day, our drivers will pick everything up.

Step 5: Certificate

Within 5 working days you will receive an environmental certificate, transport document and the zero invoice.

What makes CPU recycling so complex?

A CPU seems small, but it is technically one of the most advanced electronic components.

Each chip consists of:

  • Semiconductors (such as silicon),
  • Metal layers (including gold and silver),
  • Plastic or ceramic housing,
  • And sometimes cooling pastes or solder residue with heavy metals.

That makes CPU recycling more than simple metal recovery. It requires specialized knowledge to determine what is still usable and what should be processed responsibly.

Recycling according to European quality standard

At IT Recycling, CPUs are not only recycled, but also reused whenever possible. Everything is done according to WEEELABEX standards: the European quality standard for safe, environmentally friendly and traceable processing of electronic equipment.

CPU Recycling and data destruction

The process: from collection to reuse or feedstock

At IT Recycling, CPU recycling follows a careful, certified process in which reuse and recycling go hand in hand:

1. Collection
2. Data removal
3. Assessment
4. Preprocessing
5. Report

Collection and registration

CPUs are collected as part of discarded computers, servers or laptops. Each route is traceable from customer to final processor.

CPU recycling: for circular IT

The responsible recycling and reuse of CPUs is an essential part of the circular IT chain.

Laptops vernietiging

IT Recycling ensures that each chip gets the right destination, whether that is reuse in new hardware, or processing into clean secondary raw material.

Thus, together we contribute to:

  • Less primary mining,
  • More efficient use of materials,
  • And a more sustainable digital economy.

What other hardware do we recycle?

In addition to CPUs, we also take in other electronic devices. All these devices are processed in an environmentally friendly way, with maximum separation of raw materials and safe destruction of data. The hardware in question is this:

Desktop computers and laptops

Hard drives and SSDs

Servers and networking equipment

Printers and copiers

Lithium batteries and solar panels
