1. Shredding with the bailiff<\/h2>\n

Dutch law also needs us sometimes. By court order we had to destroy a number of files, on hard disks, tapes and usb sticks. We were never told the exact details (unfortunately), but it had something to do with copyright. We then set out with our mobile hard disk shredder! Under the watchful eye of all parties and the bailiff, all data carriers were then destroyed on site. <\/p>\n

2.One<\/strong>hard drive destruction on site<\/h2>\n

Of course, we sometimes get small orders for data destruction. But this one was very special! At a company specializing in access control systems, we were asked to destroy a single hard disk. The info security manager, the director and the head of security were all there to admire this ‘spectacle’. Now why was this one hard disk so important? According to our client, this hard disk contained information that could be very useful for escaping from Dutch prisons. Fortunately, therefore, this disk no longer exists…. <\/p>\n

3. Dongel to pieces of 9mm<\/h2>\n

Have you ever heard of a dongle? This small stick makes your laptop compatible with mobile Internet and was very popular several years ago. We also regularly destroy this device on location, shredding the dongle into 9-millimeter pieces. So there really is nothing left of it at all. <\/p>\n

4. Destroying printed circuit boards<\/h2>\n

Circuit boards are not the first things you think of when you think of data destruction. But even these are items we destroy on a regular basis. It is usually totally unclear to us where they came from, or what they once served for. This, of course, involves the piece of ROM on the circuit board<\/a>. A while back, for example, we shredded circuit boards that had to do with control systems in the railroad system. <\/p>\n

5. ATMs also go through the shredder<\/h2>\n

Fairly new to us is the destruction (usually on-site) of ATMs, card readers and payment systems of all kinds. It started with Adyen, one of the world’s biggest players in payment methods. Now we see more and more providers and also stores choosing to have old ATM equipment destroyed on site. It also happens that we destroy cards and credit cards. <\/p>\n

6. Medical pumps from Scholten Medical Group<\/h2>\n

What are they for? No idea. But medical it certainly is! We have been destroying Scholten Medical Group’s intelligent medical pumps for years. As a result, no sensitive patient information can ever end up on the street. Quite a reassurance, because medical information in particular is very sensitive. <\/p>\n

7. Sports watches from Polar<\/h2>\n

We also like to continue our sports watch business. In fact, we destroy in our warehouse all Polar brand sports watches, which are no longer repaired under warranty. These watches contain personal data of previous users. By destroying sports watches in our shredder, the privacy of athletes is always maintained. Besides Polar sports watches, we also encounter more and more other smart watches, for example from Apple. <\/p>\n

8. Sphero robot balls<\/h2>\n

Have you ever heard of Sphero? These controllable robot balls are really fun toys! At the request of a wholesaler, we shredded a large number of these digital toy balls because they no longer wanted the products on the market. We therefore destroyed them in our warehouse with our stationary shredder. <\/p>\n

9. Goodbye voting machines, hello pencil<\/h2>\n

In the Netherlands, there was a real controversy surrounding these machines: voting computers, for use in elections. There is even an action group “we don’t trust voting computers. This club showed that the data security of the voting machines left much to be desired. After the necessary legal wrangling, it was then decided to abolish them altogether. <\/p>\n

As a result, 2500 voting machines were at the operator of the voting machines for years. Later, by order of the minister, the order came to us. Because this involved sophisticated equipment, we were the only party in the Netherlands able to carry it out! <\/p>\n
